Accountancy course

My wife is looking for temporay work, and is considering doing an accountancy course to improve her chances of finding work.

Can anyone advise which courses / disciplines would be most helpful to her? She can comit about 10 hours per week)

I guess it depends what sort of work he would like to, does she have any previous accountancy experience?

Then I think it's a case of how quickly does she want to start bringing in some money and how much to commit financially to course and exam fees.

AAT (Association of accounting technicians) is a good starting point.

Then perhaps CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) if the intention is to work in a company or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) if she thinks she may end up in practice.

ACA (Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) is generally more specific to working in practice and you will also need a training contract to complete it.

AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) is a really good option - it suits people who want to work in all areas of accountancy and is a very well respected qualification.

Many colleages provide courses as well as the private tuition providers.
