Access Control Systems

Hi everyone,

I've only just joined the forum and look forward to getting to know some of the other members! I figured that my best starting point would be to ask for some advice.

We run a self storage facility in central London (Shoreditch way) and currently utilise a simple Pin based access control system. We are hoping to launch a new facility in the next 12 months and want to consider other Access Control systems.

Does anybody have any advice in terms of suppliers and what systems work well as an alternative to PIN?

Hi Anthony,

I do some work with security companies who require M2M SIMs for some of their systems. Recently I've seen an increase in requests for SIMs to be used within biometric access control systems for likes of facial recognition/ finger print scanning etc.

I can't point you in the direction of suppliers but this seems to be a direction some of the industry is moving in which might help you find a alternative to PIN.

You could try tamperproof NFC tags - then people could access using their smartphones (not iPhone unfortunately)
