Hi All,

We currently make essay plans to help students who have difficulty structuring essays. We have a terrible website and wanted to update it. However, the selling point for this product is to show how with step by step guidance writing an essay can be easier than they think.

With this in mind the central selling point is to show potential customers is an example of an essay plan.

Does anyone have any idea of a template that might be good for this? It would seem unusual to have a document example on the front page of a website. I can't remember seeing a similar website. Any ideas?

Thanks

Just publish as another web page. No need for a template. If you want you could also create a pdf version for downloading.

Why do you still have a terrible website? You have had it reviewed and had lots of advice, why not just bite the bullet and get a new one built, it would pay for itself within days.

Out of interest, does the business make no money at the moment, or is a web presence immaterial to the business strategy?

I'm sort of interested to understand what drives business towards DIY web design using templates and what makes them step back and have the moments of inspiration that perhaps they should use a web designer and pay for their skills.

    Its a genuine question.

    ... edit ..
    I also just noticed
    It took all day ...:)
which sort of answers my question, too much free time / not earning anything by doing anything else

I thought the same. Getting professional help would have got you the answer in a few minutes. If everyone had the same DIY attitude to you Alex, nobody would use your services!

Hi I'm a bit confused about what you mean. The website in question was an out of the box poke around a bit but generally look terrible. And yes I did the initial work but a developer did other bits.

We don't normally work like that but its offering a service 'essay plans' that are generally not offered by anyone else. So really it was an experiment. And it half worked so we are moving to a better site now.

Everything will be done by our developer he just doesn't have much creative flair, hence me doing the groundwork.
