I don't get many of these as in letter or email form and I was in my local independant double glazing showroom the other day and the wall was plastered with written testimonials by past customers in their own handwriting on their own writing paper. Hmmm strange that I thought, I don't get them like this then the penny dropped - each letter made mention of the cheque being enclosed for payment for the work. Its obvious the double glazing firm posts out invoices once the work is completed (I get paid on delivery) so when the customer posts the cheque back they are more than likely to add a covering letter with some words of thanks for a job well done = theres your instant written testimonial which importantly is a genuine one:)

sorry, I wasnt asking how to get them just pointing out the differnece between giving a domestic trade client an invoice on completion and leaving there and then with the payment as opposed to posting an invoice and getting them to post you a cheque. I'd have thouight the majority of punters if they're happy with the work will put in a coivering letter saying how pleased they are. A scanned letter from a client saying nice things carries more weight than an asked for 3 liner on a website I think....
