    Hi

    I'm new around here but I was asked to introduce myself, whether I like it or not ;)

    My name is Jon Butt and I own the UK's largest online fire safety company at FireProtectionOnline.co.uk. I started it from scratch having sold my previous fire safety business, so it's fair to say that I know a fair bit about ecommerce and online marketing. Please ask me anything.

    I am an entrepreneur who speaks, records and writes hundreds of tips on business and marketing every year. He has helped thousands of business owners across the world get more clients, make more money and win back their freedom from the shackles of business. Jon also runs The Owners Club: a learning community for entrepreneurs looking to build and grow a sustainable business

    I'm probably best known these days for my popular Marketing For Owners Podcast show (Google it or try iTunes as I can't post a link) that has over 500 episodes.

    Hi Matt

    I have a ton of tips for podcasting, but that would be a loooong reply. Here's 4 for you:

    1. Do not spend a load of money on equipment - just a £40 mic will do for a start
    2. Do not faff around spending hours editing out ums and things. Just add a bumper at start and end and go with it
    3. Be consistent like a TV or radio show - same time, same day, regular
    4. Promote the show - it is not a "Build it and they will come" kind of thing

    It's good fun and worth a go.
