Thank you for the feedback. It's good to know it will not affect the CTRWe have been using it for a while now and its made no difference at all to conversions. I think it was a big problem many years ago, i fact when i have been buying stuff i cant remember the last time i had to actually enter my password even though it has gone through the 3D secure authorisation process. I assume the banks have got a bit clever and satisfy themselves that it is a genuine purchase without asking the customer to enter their password.
Thank you - my concern was that might discourage customers from finishing their purchase. But until now it seems all positive. You will find that in most cases the 3D Secure authentication is done in the background these days with analysis being carried out on the card holders spending patterns and activity. As such, it is rare that a card holder will be asked for their password but there is still the liability shift to the bank based on this analysis.
Having 3DS and displaying the various scheme logos (Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode, Amex SafeKey) on your website should give your customers peace of mind that security (in particular payment processing security) is important to you.
Did you also have fewer issues with credit card fraud? We can have problems but it is often with new customers that have never set up 3D secure and so by implication customers that do not buy on the web much and so they get confused by it all
But overall there is now no reason not to
We had a few orders in the past months that were paid with a credit card and were fraudulent. And we have put into place the 3D secure payments as a measure of precaution. If you are having a problem with credit card fraud then 3D Secure should help to reduce that problem. Can you be more specific about the problem you are having?
We have implemented the 3D secure checkout. We haven't seen any change in the conversion rate on the website. Overall a positive change.Sorry, I missed your original reply. But yes, 3DS / liability shift is going to reduce the number of fraudulent payments you receive. Did you implement the change? What happened?
