To All,

I am self employed as a sole trader and I am in the process of completing my tax return online and I am kind of stuck on a few questions.

I am still a current recipient of Income Based ESA (The DWP knows of my self employment) and I have got my Certificate of Pay and Taxable benefit for the 2014/14 year. do I need to put the total income on this certificate onto the question:

Income Turnover - takings, fees, sales or money earned by your business ?

Any other business income not already included above?

Many Thanks

Take IX.

Scalloway,

I have answered 'Yes' to that question:

"Did you receive any UK pensions, annuities or state benefits, for example, state pension, occupational pension, retirement annuity, Incapacity Benefit?"

It is the Certificate of Pay and Taxable benefit for the 2014/14 year, that I should place the amount of income onto my return??

Scalloway,

Under "Income for Business Name"

The first question is 'Turnover - takings, fees, sales or money earned by your business? (Which I have answered).

The second question is 'Any other business income not already included above??

Many Thanks

Not sure what you are asking here.

The ESA doesn't go near on the self employment pages.

You should have ticked the box here

Then click on the UK pensions annuities and other state benefits, just below self employment.Enter the amount from the P60

You have stated that it is Income based ESA. That is not contribution based ESA. Keep going through the form until you find the box that matches your item. If you get to the end of the form and haven't found the right place to put it then follow the advice given above. Or just follow the advice.
