Hi
Hoping for some advice and guidance around this before I go any further.
I have recently become self employed and set up with our Event Services business. We are offering a range of services in our area to the general public.
We have spotted a bit of gap where we can offer a nationwide service aimed at corporate clients and we would then outsource the work to local suppliers.
This has worked well over the past few weeks although when sourcing some suppliers, we have often found most are not keen to take work from a competitor. As well as this, as our business name is pretty personal and more consumer-targeted, we thought of the idea of working under another business name, which implies we are more focused on corporate & commercial work.
So we would use one business name for the local work, and the other business name for the nationwide work that we outsource. The names are different, and aren't really connected.
I don't have any knowledge on the advantages and disadvantages and the do's and don'ts of this so I am hoping someone can advice if this is an ok thing to do or should I be wary of anything that prevents me from doing this.
I am a sole trader, the accounts would all be done under the one and the business is effectively run as one. The only thing which differentiates the business would be the name and the email addresses.
Many Thanks
Gab
