2 Adword Accounts

Have a bit of a headache.

I would like to have 2 people each running there own adwords account but traffic would be going to the same website.

Although the sites could be split up if that makes sense.

Is there any work around?

Normally no as this would be seen as double serving

However depending how the 2 people are targeting the same website you can apply for an exemption via Google where they will physically link (at their end) the 2 accounts so only 1 ad is ever shown for the website at 1 given time.

To do this you need to prove there is a valid reason for an exemption, for example we have a client who runs one website and operates several franchises off it via subdomains. Each franchise is provided with an AdWords account that is used to target regional traffic, in theory there shouldn't be any ad double serving but it's virtually impossible to guarantee this when using various KW match types and geographic targeting so I have had the accounts linked by Google to ensure no violation of the double serve policy.

Hope this helps

Use My Client Center

My Client Center (MCC) is a powerful tool for handling multiple AdWords accounts. You can think of MCC as an "umbrella" account with several AdWords accounts ("managed accounts") linked to it.

Who can benefit from a MCC account

Large advertisers with more than one account
Third-party agencies such as:
Search engine marketers (SEMs)
Search engine optimizers (SEOs)
Automated bid managers (ABMs)
How a MCC account can help you work with your managed accounts

Easily view multiple managed accounts, including other MCC accounts, via the My Client Center view.
See relevant information for all managed accounts in one place.
Run reports across multiple managed accounts at once or download the My Client Center view into a CSV file.
Use a single login to access all managed accounts.
Create and link AdWords accounts from within your MCC account.
Owners of individual managed accounts can, as always, sign in to their AdWords accounts and maintain access to their login information.

We've actually contacted Google about this before and had it confirmed.

In our case, we had 2 accounts targeting campaigns for different sets of countries. They were managed under different credit cards, had different channel partners involved and basically were independent entities who were served up under the same domain name.

As long as 2 ads don't ever show simultaneously, however you configure it, then they are okay with it.

Be prepared to explain this fact in crystal clear detail though. And if you're smart, contact them first to confirm, before undertaking the campaign, which could get suspended and then have a nightmare begin.

Nice cut & paste job - http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2375468

To the OP - so not to waste your time, ignore the advice of setting up an MCC to solve your issue, yes you can manage multiple accounts but without getting Google to make the internal link you will be in violation of their Double Serving Policy.

I have an adwords rep who to be honest seems to know a lot less than I do and was none the wiser when I mentioned double serving before.

What should I mention when phoning them up this afternoon to get these accounts linked?
