123-reg ?

Anybody had any problems contacting them? I have submitted 2 support tickets and tried telephoning but not getting any response ?

There service does seem to have gone down hill recently.

Had no problems getting through on the phone number I found from within the registered members area... did email them but never got a response.

I phoned them 5 or 6 times after not receiving an email response from them. Not even an answerphone! What a waste of time..

It is a pitty as their service used to be great... made an error of using my corporate card once for a personal purchase so emailed them to see if they could cancel it and then allow me to rebuy/ pay using my personal card.

I had a response within 15 minutes, they never recharged me for the purchase and when my card statement came through the refund actually showed up before the charge

I have never had any problems with 123-reg, I always found their response via e-mail really good, although I have not had to contact them for a while.

123-reg's customer support has always been less than impressive. They're happy enough to take your money but after that you're on your own.

I've been helping someone else over the last couple of days whose had similar problems.

 

I have 7 domain names with them now and to move them is going to be expensive.

123-reg dont charge for moving them... so as long as you have a company that doesnt charge for receiving them then there is no direct cost.... of cause if things go pear shaped there can be indirect costs

Not really as mentioned there is no charge from 123reg to release a domain.

We do charge a nominal £1 fee for a UK transfer in and £5 for other extensions but in most cases a year will be added to the registration period so you don't lose out.

To move a UK domain to us you just need to login into 123reg and change the IPS tag to ENOM (note the upper case) and for other extensions simply unlock the domain and use the panel to get the EPP release code. You also need to ensure that you have access to the registrant email, address.

Then just kick off a transfer in here: http://www.openminddomains.co.uk/transcheck.php

Note that you cannot transfer a domain between registrars that is less than 60 days old...

 

I have 5 .co.uk domains, 1 .com and 1 .eu

On the two occassions that I've had difficulty with them, I've always had a swift response by email. It's always been a comprehensive answer, too.

OK the eu domain is the only one I can't transfer in as you can't shift those between registrars just yet.

So your five uk domains would be £1 each and the .com £4.99 + vat (£5.13) How about I do the lot for £8.99 inc vat for you?

Note that you cannot transfer a domain between registrars that is less than 60 days old...

That doesnt apply to most extensions, including .uk - you can transfer those seconds after they are registered.

Its a throwback to when ICANN allowed the breakup of the .com registration system.

some of my domains on 123 reg have the wrone exipy date eg 00-00-000. I contacted support several times.

123reg = SH 1 T

I emailed 123-reg support twice in the last month and heard nothing. In my opinion their customer service has always been useless.

And I HATE the way they just take money of your card if you don't renew a domain. Its CRIMINAL.

If I could be bothered I would transfer all my domains out tommorow.

Its probably worth mentioning that Pipex (Owner of 123Reg) also have terrible customer support and billing!
