Has anyone used them ? Are they any good ? I'm looking for a ready made web store that I can just add my products to and be ready to go. I only sell 5 or 10 different items, so I don't need anything too complicated . Any suggestions welcome.

Personally I would favor going with a solution which you can host yourself (with a web host), that way it gives you a bit more flexibility to move and expand as time goes on.

The 123 type setup are probably great to get up and running immediately, but can sometimes become a bit restrictive in the future. When it comes to that point, because of their proprietary nature it is not very easy to move your data somewhere else.

There may be a little bit more of an initial cost, but if you pick an open source solution such as OpenCart and use a pre-built theme it may actually be cheaper than you think.

I hope this helps.

Hi There,

Have a look at Prestashop which is a professional, open source, free to use ecommerce platform.
You would only need a domain name and hosting for your online shop. The software is easy to use and you can further enhance your online shop with a premium template and other add-ons.

Hope this helps :)

Feel free to PM me if you need any more help or free advice with this.

Best Regards,

Tim

One of my past clients had a 123-Web shop and actually it was pretty good, and also performed well on Google. Their support seemed OK too.

That said, I'd still say get OpenCart of a hosted solution or if you are not expecting to sell or than a few items a day, Wordpress e-commerce would do fine.

    Hello,

I work here at 123-reg. We have got several different hosting solutions which we offer to customers, including a template based dedicated shop packages through to shared hosting packages and VPS. Without knowing exactly what your needs are and what you hope to create it is very hard for me to advise you fully. If you have got any specific questions about the various packages we offer that I could you with, or if you would like to arrange for a member of my team to give you call to discuss your needs and what we could offer to meet your needs, please send your details over to [email protected] and I will be more than happy to help.

    Regards,

Can we also use that email address if we have problems with a domain we have registered with you?

I agree with the others when it comes to an ecommerce solution you really want something you can adapt and build upon as your business progresses. Don't limit yourself as it is much much more hassle to then move to another ecommerce system later. You will outgrow this one very quickly if you want to gain momentum with your shop.

I recommend woocommerce, (although I I have said this so many times now I sound like a stuck record or like I work for them lol)
