£100 Seo

ok, fake scenario time :)

You are currently 26th - how far up the SERP's would you expect to rise if you were targeting a competitive keyword ie: BUSINESS LOANS and paid someone £100 to do some SEO :)

thoughts pleeeese.

edit: oops... don't know why I typed £150 in there.. as the thread title says.. £100 on SEO

I would've thought you could get SOMEBODY to at very least check your site for Meta tags and image tags for £100... there MUST be somebody who'd want the money.

Assuming you didn't have them done before, and assuming they were added well (and with the right keywords) you'd probably find that over a few weeks your position would move considerably.

META tags are the very least that you can do to improve your ranking.

Other than that... £100 isn't going to go very far at all.

Most of the SEOs that work in that price bracket, whatever they're location, are likely to do more damage than good. You might see a short term boost (as they get you loads of crappy links) but in the long term, that's another story. I've heard loads of nightmares of sites going to so called SEOs and getting penalties, delisted, etc due to the SEO not really knowing what they were doing, or working on principals years out of date.

Maybe its worth spending the money on link building like manual directory submissions or article distribution. This will increase the amount of good anchor text links pointing to your website, and hopefully, would be reflected in increased rankings.

well it costs £45 to get a keyword research report from me - see the UKBF offers section (shameless plug I know but since post got moved to offers from SEO, I've had v little response)
That leaves maybe an hours rate for someone to actually implement the optimisation....not enough really.

I have a cheaper way, hold a gun to his/her head for 14 days (maybe get a partner involved and take turns) and make him work his ass off for free.

If he doesn't get you to P1 blow his head off in anger, if he does get you to P1 blow his head off in joy!

Blood SEO's!

(only joking)

I've been trying to think of a good way of measuring how much I'd provide for SEO but it's very difficult. I'd certainly on-site optimise a website (not including keyword research) but it depends on the size of the website and how much work had to be done on it.

Somebody would probably quote you £100 and you'd say they were too expensive and go overseas lol.

Got it in one! The amount of work our 'competitors' get - no matter what country, it just has to be one where £20 is the average weekly wage - they are more than prepared to work their butts off for this '£100'.

This is why we have to have a unique selling point or we lose out . . .

if are looking to spend 100 GBP for a SEO campaign you better save it for the future. You would be better off doing some research on your own, and then applying some changes to your website. Looks like you are looking for a one time fix, which is not the case with SEO. It is more of a sustained effort. i wish you all the luck.:)
