£100 challenge

I have been challenged by my mates and need some help!

I have £100 cash and 30 days and need to make as much money from that £100 as possible.

Buying/selling/gambling is all allowed but obviously low risk options are better. I can buy and sell or create stuff to sell as long as there's a paperchase to prove the profits came as a result of that original £100. I just can't add to that £100 by working somewhere or getting funds from elsewhere.

What would you do?
I was thinking buying from car-boot sales and selling on eBay but with a 30 day limit, this could be wasting time. Any ideas?

Create a website/blog/twitter/facebook page or whatever you like and call it the £100 challenge. Visit businesses with some printed marterial and tell them your aim is to make a thousand pounds within a month from the £100 and you will be publicising them on your page to all your followers mentioning them if they pay you money, and you will do a press release to attract followers to your site/page.

If you actively promote the businesses on your website/page it will give them more of an incentive to pay you money.

Do a press release with your local paper publicising the same. Tell them you want to raise money for christmas.

This will be your best avenue for making the most money within the shortest time IMO.

Even better if you promise that the profit will go to charity. (obviously you need to uphold your promise)

Find something you're good at, and then place a bet on yourself to achieve it!

Could be something like cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats in less than a week or doing every station on the London Undergrond network in less than x hours.

Failing that - put a stall near a large sporting event and sell fruit juice and coffee. Will cost you the square root of very little, and sell each for at least £1.50

I'd be surprised if you don't turn the first £100 into £500 on day one, and then go find the next event to rinse and repeat!

Have fun!

I played this game many years ago - its' an oldie, but a goodie! It is great for confidence, and proves sales ability and sharp thinking - most importantly, it makes you understand your business better.

You really need to do this with a trade you know alot about, or you will fail miserably! Think on your feet, use business contacts you have and everything you know about the market and more. Talk to anyone - you never know who you can make money from!

To give you an idea, I will tell you how mine started. I was in the motor trade and fairly young, and was set a challenge to buy a car worth £100 and drive back in a Rolls Royce within a month. I was allowed to use my own money for travel, but whatever was invested, had to remain invested and I could not use that investment fund to bail myself out at any point.

It started at a car auction, where there was nothing going through for £100 that was any good at all. I ended up buying a rat of a car for £1 just to get me home again.

Next day I scrapped it and got £47 I then bought a 2CV, which was my big break for £140, dull dented and short tax/mot - polished the life out of it and sold for £900. Then there was a vectra at auction for £750, sold £1800 and so it went on.

28 days later I returned having been all over wheeling at dealing and return with a 1976 Rolls Royce (more like rolls rust!) - but the bet was won!

It CAN be done, and it really it so much fun! One of the things you really need to do in your life!

Leaflets-Distribution

Spend a few quid knocking-up some very cheap leaflets then knock on doors and be very polite and offer general work such as cheap car washing, gardening and if you have specific skills - offer that also.

If you can earn £30 - £50 per day doing that and achieve that for a 5 day week only , you can turn that into £600 - £1000 over the next month. :)

I was going to say car washing..

Easily make some good money, or ask a local pub to borrow there car park and have a section washing cars.

Also buy some air freshners and you can then sell these after you finished washing the car
