One of my customers, who I do the odd computer work for, recently changed to a BT digital contract and they supplied him with a router and a gadget that connects to a digital phone supplied by BT. This connects using Cloud Voice Express and has a device plugged into the router that then connects to the phone. The standard phones don't fit into the router as would normally happen when you switch to a digital system so my question is, would I be able to add a standard voip phone using the BT router but without the voice cloud Express. I did ask BT but they said they couldn't give me any advice if I wasn't using Cloud Voice Express.
) You can then purchase a VoIP adapter like the Grandstream HT801 which would allow you to connect any BT standard type telephone, or purchase an actual dedicated VoIP telephone.
