Hi All,
Can anyone advise on how to sell off excess womenswear stock (multiple brands) close to wholesale prices? Does anyone buy such stock vs. posting it on EBay or GumTree etc or selling it at £1 per Kilo etc?
Thank you in advance.

You can find another retailer to sell what they are after for somewhere close to wholesale prices.
May take time and effort and they will want to pick and choose if they have any sense.

The places that will buy to sell on to retailers are pretty much going to want it considerably cheaper than wholesale but will buy in bulk.

Can try selling in bulk as a job lot on ebay / gumtree etc. From what I've seen on other stuff whose price I know there tends to be a discount on the wholesale price too.

You can buy from manufacturers, importers and wholesalers and sell it third-party websites like eBay/ gumtree. Meanwhile, you can also make a website add your products. Initial you do not get more impact but time goes you will get branding towards your products. Give good quality and fair offers to attract customers.

A website won't help much unless its also marketed. And may take years to sell some of the stock. May take years to get a sale or two.

Thank you for your feedback. I have a website since late last year. It takes a while for it to see progress, or so I am told. Would prefer a quicker option. I did contact wholesale agencies in the past few days however they want large quantities of goods (1000s) and at 5-10% (if you are lucky!) of RRP which would be selling the clothes to near enough nothing.

Yes, they then have to sell the clothing at below wholesale price to retailers. Hence their pricing.
Depends what you want - the money or the hassle of storing the stock and slowly selling it for a better price.
Using a website it may well be you have some of this stock still in a decade.

Clothe business it niche area. Profit based on stock, fashion and price. If we had overstock it cost more and if fashion changes it gets stuck and the best pricing. If possible share your website to analysis it.

We have a large body of customers who like a bargain and come to our website to find one. Generally, prices are less than wholesale, but selected items can achieve higher prices.
