Hi Sarah - you are a long way from home!! Welcome to Northern Ireland. Where is your bakery? You might like to join #Belfasthour on Twitter which runs on a Thursday evening 9pm to 10pm. There are lots of businesses who network each week.
Hi all - just a quick update for you - I finally bit the bullet and cancelled my Knowhow subscription :) My PC is already running quicker!
I remembered I had set up an Idrive 'free' account many many years ago so I am now using that to back up my most important files too. I also have just been...
Still here guys. Thanks for all the suggestions. The contract is now up for renewal so I guess this is now decision time. I do back-up PC and i also back-up to external HD so its just the cloud back-up to sort. Mind you I quite like the idea of NAS.
Sorry Alan - that was a poor choice of words on my part. Of course I am connected to the internet, it is just more the fact that I prefer to work on documents which are stored on my hard drive and then I just carry out two back-ups - one to an external hard drive and the other to an on-line...
Thanks everyone for your suggestions - I will certainly look at those.
Re working in the cloud - I just don't like the idea of having to log on to the internet every time I want to work.
I do have Dropbox and use it with several of my clients - but we use this more as a file sharing service.
Hi all - I am currently using Knowhow Cloud but would like to see if there is something better out there as I find it extremely slow.
I have been looking at Crashplan, IDrive and SOS - but some of the reviews are not very favourable.
Can anyone recommend a fast, reliable, easy to use online...
Hi guys - I want to pick your brains please.
I have an Asus CM 6730 series desktop (purchased August 2013) which initially had Windows 8, upgraded to Windows 8.1 and then finally Windows 10.
I would say since the Win 8.1 upgrade onwards I have been experiencing hanging/freezing of my PC which...
Thank you for your suggestions - I am pleased to say that after a lengthy phone call with a very helpful guy from Knowhow they were able to sort everything out for me. Back-up taking place as we speak.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply. :)
Hi Riiser - I generally use Chrome, but have checked IE and Edge this morning - all fine.
I have been able to install/unisntall other software - it is just this issue with Knowhow Cloud - which I use for back-ups.
The message is "There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A...
Hi guys - after successfully upgrading my Acer Aspire laptop from Win 8.1 to Win 10 I thought I would do my office ASUS CM6370 series desktop. Everything seemed to go well and I only seem to be left with one problem.
For some reason I cannot open Knowhow Cloud and when I try to...
I must admit that I only tend to pop on to the Forum whenever I need advice, but when I am on I try to give something back as well.
You are right though the NI Regional Forum tends to be a lot quieter than the main ones - is that because we are just too busy getting on with things ourselves?
UPDATE - well that didn't work, I left the PC running from lunchtime Friday and it froze at 04:52 the following morning. I did create a recovery disc a few months ago, can I use this to re-install the OS without losing my files, etc. I did have to do a complete re-install a few weeks ago and...
Hi there - I have run the memory scan and everything is fine. I have also re-run the scan fix and chk disc, so i will leave the PC running 24/7 for the next few days and see what happens?
Thanks for your input.
