If the company has never traded then you will still be required to file DORMANT ACCOUNTS by the deadline as set by Companies House. This is a very simple process that can be completed in 5 minutes - however you must be registered for WebFiling in order to do this.

It CAN take a while to receive the VAT certificate (several weeks) however only a few days to receive the online authorisation... not much help I know.
