I believe it is, I certainly do understand how a limited company works - I've been running one for over 25 years now.

Petition link to appeal Companies House plans to require P&L reporting for Small & Micro Companies in April 27

Personal income can very easily be established from P&L accounts of a micro entity, or at the very least fairly accurately approximated. This is what I have an issue with.

I have no issue with the director ID requirements - I do believe this is a good step in the right direction, but I do see the proposed changes as an invasion of privacy, for reasons already stated. Businesses already committing fraud and falsely reporting accounts will likely continue to do so...

Petition link to appeal Companies House plans to require P&L reporting for Small & Micro Companies in April 27

Personally I support the petition. For one, its nobody else's business what you earn a year as a director of a small or micro business and making that information public to whoever wants to take a snoop is a massive invasion of privacy. I don't know or want to know what my friends, family or...

Petition link to appeal Companies House plans to require P&L reporting for Small & Micro Companies in April 27

Hi As many of you know, the UK government plans to require all Small and Micro entities to file P&L reports from April 2027. There's a petition created now (not by myself) at the link below. Although there is talk that this was paused in July 25, its still showing as a planned requirement on...

    Publishing P&L

I'm reading conflicting reports on this - plenty accountants saying the HMRC are going ahead with P&L reporting for micro entities - but then plenty more stating its to be reversed and not going ahead. Anyone know for sure? Or is it still to be decided?

Need Advice on How to grow my Small business

We started our business from home, similar to you, used parent's garage to store stock until we moved out to a small unit after 18 months. Was a good decision for us - that was some 20 years ago and we've grown year on year since. However, I'd argue you might be better not having a showroom...

What works better - Newsletters or Blogs?

Yes - I totally agree with this - we have quite a growing blog on our website and it was initially picked up by Google within 2 weeks averaging position 3-6, after adding the url to Search Console. New blog pages get indexed and usually listed on page 1 of Google within 2-7 days. It...

    Is IOSS optional?

Thanks Darren. I assume this 10k euro threshold only applies to EU>EU sales and not UK>EU sales? Again no clear info on this.

    Is IOSS optional?

No problem - its so confusing! No clear guidance anywhere as far as I can see and the UK VAT helpline offer nothing either.

    Is IOSS optional?

Do you have a link outlining this threshold? Again seen differing opinions upon this.

    Is IOSS optional?

Can someone clear this up (as I'm having terrible trouble finding the answer - there's a whole world of confusion out there it seems) am I right in my understanding that signing up for IOSS is optional? If so and we choose not to sign up for it, can we can still continue to sell into the EU...

Hi I have several e-commerce websites and looking to change to another host provider as my current is not proving very reliable (frequent downtime issues). So looking for recommendations please? Thanks
