As others have said above, most modern e-commerce packages will automate the purchase process to a certain degree.

We use a heavily modified version of CS-Cart as our basic cart which can then be customised to your requirements as a part of our service.

Duncan is correct... in these wonderful days of international commerce, most shopping cart solutions SHOULD handle such functionality. It is surprising, however, how few do it well.

I agree with Carl. We also use Live Chat for prospective customers/support and it works very well.
Also, people know you are there just in case they need immediate assistance.
We never 'push' either...
But don't forget that installing OScommerce is one thing, but customising it is another thing all together.
I would strongly advise against using any of the default templates...
