    Offline and online sales decline

its like people dont understand how things work. retail sales are driven by consumer confidence which the government have destroyed single handedly (rightly or wrongly) for the second time this year - it will not recover anytime soon. Sales for every business (more or less) in the country is...

    Local Restrictions? What a Joke..

the Gov do really just need to simply things. I mean if there was a map of the whole country split into colors green amber and red and like 3 rules in each, 1. go to work / work from home 2. mix with other households / no mix and 3. safe to carry on with social distancing it would be easy and...

New Rules: Furlough Scheme to End Next Month but Business no where near ready to open?

the whole thing is a farce. I appreciate how hard it must be to try and manage this situation, however, to run out of tests, to run out of the ability to process tests is not good especially when lumping children back into schools and people into work just weeks before did they not expect this...

How many staff are you letting work from home

you are right. and everyone is different - i honestly think that it should be a legal obligation now and like there's a right to request part time hours there should also be a right to request flexible working / working from home. NOW i am 100 percent sure that the solution is not for everyone...

How many staff are you letting work from home

i hate this whole argument. staff do work better at home. I am in legal and the difference for me is unreal. yes, I cut the grass during work hours. BUT - I work harder and when I am sat at the computer I am 100 percent more motivated to do work

    Anyone else against normalised WFH?

i dont get this social thing about the office. in legal literally everywhere i have worked has been dominated by career types who don't really make friends and are wielding large sharp daggers that are ready to be pushed straight in your back when you turn the other way... with the exception...

    Anyone else against normalised WFH?

to be perfectly honest - the solution isn't 100 percent of either office or WFH its a mixture of the two. if my employer says to me you can now do 3 days at home and 2 if the office i will be the happiest person in the world. lets see.

    Anyone else against normalised WFH?

I work in Legal and the WFH situation is amazing. Peace and quiet to work is all i have ever wanted. I feel happier. More comfortable. I have worked when it suits me as opposed to suit my employer meaning that i have very often been working harder and for longer than i have previously and i...

    Anyone else against normalised WFH?

at the end of the day - businesses will have to make a decision. as alot of staff will want more flexibility now. those staff wont just stay were they are they will look to move to employers that offer more flexible solutions. I will be one of those if my employer doesn't embrace change... not...

    Anyone else against normalised WFH?

everyone is different. BUT - i detest working in an office. it's horrible. everytime i think i have turned a corner something else pisses me off.. seriously once you have done it long enough there's nothing good about it. working from home at least some part of the week is the future for sure...

    If numbers don’t go up.

if Simon was running the country half of it would be dead. that's the only thing thats a certainty here... (nothing against Simon) but you cant just let life go back to normal in the middle of the first wave of a pandemic especially when scientists believe the real number of infections currently...

    If numbers don’t go up.

there is no evidence that having had the virus leads to any long term immunity thats the problem... most studies have shown that any benefits slowly fade meaning like the flu you could simply keep catching it year on year. I'm very much in the this will spread like wildfire in winter campaign...

    If numbers don’t go up.

i'm not frightened - i'm not concerned about getting the virus i am concerned about the virus spreading to the point it did before and i am sure that it will to be perfectly honest with the attitudes being floated about.

    If numbers don’t go up.

4 or 5 very quickly becomes 100 or 200 and that quickly becomes 2000 and 3000... you have to be a fool to think that the situation is 'fine'

    If numbers don’t go up.

^ this would be true if a significant number of young people hadn't unnecessarily died - try telling that to the government though.
