So far with one university things are looking positive. I cannot say too much but it is skills development, not something they can read in a book but something they have to interact with. Aiming for undergraduate yrs 1 and 2
They initially contacted us, and we have worked hard to tailor it to...
It looks as though we may be selling training materials for universities to use in their teaching.
It's a whole new area to us and just wondered if anyone has any experience they could share?
It is in a very niche area for a particular subject, so we are unlikely to be your competitors!
Yep, Thanks, I had been weighing this. But I think she is determined to give at least some. She would be devastated if that did happen. The loss of job/home comes with the worst case scenario as a result of not solving the immediate problems. The employers have said the job would go if...
No, I read what you wrote. I understood you to be saying you cannot loan money in any way if you are not licenced.
I now think you are saying you cannot charge interest if you are not licenced. This is very different.
Even that contradicts advice I have received that you can lend into...
So when people borrow or lend in families it is strictly not supposed to happen? How many businesses are started or propped up by loans from within families? I guess all of these are informal within families! Or is it a technically a gift from a-to-b and another gift from b-to-a later when they...
No her pensions fully pay for her flat and meals where she is. It leaves nothing for such things as chiropody, hairdressing and dental, toiletries and treats, but she does have some savings and a bit more coming in (hence the question arising). Probably totaling about 50-60k.
Asking for a second opinion (or more!) about a question I asked a financial adviser, who responded by saying it was illegal and intimated I was unethical/immoral for asking it!
But I do not know what aspect is illegal and I am not trying to cheat anyone or avoid any tax. So can anyone clear...
After coming very late for quite some time, it has suddenly changed and we have got a new Postie.
He came just after 9:00 this morning with a parcel, but although I had been up and working for an hour or so, I was still in my pajamas!
OOOps
A friend working at a sixth form college is wanting to retire. He will be 61 but checked on his pension which will be enough for him even taken now.
However it seems he can only retire with the colleges agreement, at least this is what they appear to be saying in their handbook. Can that be...
I have just successfully deregistered from VAT, but I have never hit the threshold and so it probably went through easily. Also did not have much stock.
I registered far to soon based on what turned out to be bum advice by an accountant!
Don't worry the turn over is fact and well recorded : )
Thanks for your reply. I will go ahead now and de-register. If I turned over 70k in the next 3 months I would be very happy to be paying VAT anyway! However I am not projecting anything like that.
PS I have been on the .gov site and also on business link which it refers to but cannot find these questions answered.
Business link have an interactive question and answer tool which shows I can deregister but doesn't address what happens of I find i have to register again quite soon.
Hi, I am thinking of dereistering because when I registered I thought sales would be higher than they have been and even 2 years on I am nowhere near the threshhold (I know I shouldn't have registerred but it was due some duff advice over what could be reclaimed.. water under the bridge now!)...
Thanks everyone, and the person who pm'd me.
I think it looks as though my current accountant is right and they were services and not goods.
So I cannot go back more than 6 months.
Not the best answer... but not a disaster either!
And I do want to do it right.
Thanks to everyone who has replied.
