I never watched the program, but was taught early on in my career to interview the customer as part of the diagnostic steps.
If the customer misleads you (on purpose) and you waste time, that may be reflected in the labour price.
I was actually trying out another host recently and found myself blocked, I opened a ticket when going to bed, got up next morning to an explanation that they may have blocked my IP, they had closed the ticket and if I required further support I could reopen the ticket.

This has been an interesting thread, never knew your IP got blocked if you had failed login's, you learn something new everyday.
Although it did highlight the need for direct support by email or telephone, something you should always look for in a host.
There are a few options open to you, possably a reseller account would be the best option.
I use Vidahost, excellent support staff if you ever require to submit a ticket. Always replied within 15 minutes and ticket usually closed at the same time :D

I use Vidahost as well, all I could find were positive reviews when I googled them a couple of years back. Their contactable by telephone to discuss your requirements, as well as a very fast ticket system for support if you ever need it.
Don't like USB sticks, people tend to carry them around. Not the first I have found and they are very easy to forget leaving them in local library, college computers.
Your forum is out of date and requires upgrading to the latest version.
SMF is plagued by spam, you would be much better visiting their support forum and reading / ask for advice there.
You will have to add mods (bad behaviour etc) to cut back on spam. It is a full time job running any forum...
