    Stealth and Guerrilla marketing

Stealth marketing is a shabby backstabbing way of generating business. If you need to resort to deception to get business then you are a lousy and unprofessional salesperson, and / or company. As for guerrilla marketing, read all you can by Jay Conrad Levinson, then get to work. Its usually...

linked in - does advertising on linked in work?

I like Linkedin as a contact place, and some of the forums have been useful to me. But in terms of advertising clearly it first has to depend on who your market is. Assuming it is relevant enough, in terms of the demographics you seek to reach with your message, consider first what you can do...

    Targeted marketing

I firstly suspect that your ad's in the Yellow Pages and Yell, are wrong for what you want, ie more leads and sales. I can say this because as a 30 year veteran of marketing and business grwoth consultancy, in several countries, most small and medium sized businesses are sadly deficient in...

Getting people to use you out of their local area

First thing, remove the first four items from your list of how to get more business and clients. No-one ever survived, particularly in your field, by being the cheapest. Secondly, I see no mention of any ongoing marketing strategies you employ that are likely to be effective and cost...

How I've been cold-visiting businesses - seems a good way

Marketing is such an all encompassing process, if done well, that it is likely to be only rarely that you make a sale without it. Having said that, there's an old saying from the door to door sales business. "for every 20 (figure arbitrary) doors you knock on and get to pitch to someone...

How I've been cold-visiting businesses - seems a good way

Market and you near eliminate the need to sell, as a verb. You can instead just deliver and take their money. Sell as a noun

How I've been cold-visiting businesses - seems a good way

thanks for the comment but one aspect quoted does not contradict the other. Growth must come from increased sales. To the extent that one effectively and consistently "markets", one proportionately reduces the effort necessary to exchange what you sell for their money, which is "the sale"

How I've been cold-visiting businesses - seems a good way

"Good Vibes" do not equate with sales, and as has been said above, you'll just need to see how the tangible results pan out. I would say though, two things, (and this based on a 30 year career in business growth, including start-ups, turn-arounds and new product / service launches in some 40...
