Hi, As title my company is being struck and I have had the confirmation from Companies House that they will soon be providing the date of the publication of company strike off in the London Gazette. All my account files are up to date and I have zero funds or assets in the company, but I did...

Anything i can do about this?

Hi, Basically in 2016 I messed up my self assessment resulting in a fine from HMRC. I wrote to them and explained that it was made through a lack of understanding and that it would not happen again, also that my next SA would be my last, and to please reduce or remove the fine. They agreed to...

In a muddle with current Self Assessment.

Thanks all...Saw an accountant yesterday...Lovely lady. Some shaking of her head, and saying 'why did you do that for?' (still smiling though). Result is she fixed previous filing and submitted current one, and got me back over £1000 in overpaid tax. Result. Thanks again...Lessons learned.

In a muddle with current Self Assessment.

Thanks to you both. I've arranged to see an accountant recommended by a friend in the next few days. I've briefly explained the situation and they just said to bring all paperwork to the meeting and that they will be able to file my self assessment for this year and sort the past mess. I have...

In a muddle with current Self Assessment.

Apologies on the terminology. Yes I set up a Ltd company. In the first self assessment, I declared £9000 as the salary for the 14-15 period. This 15-16 period I want to declare £7000 as a dividend and again £9000 as salary.

In a muddle with current Self Assessment.

Hi I'm doing my self assessment for the 2015-16 year but I'm confused with what to put down due to issues from the previous accounting year. I started self employment (contracting) on 17/11/2014 and companies house and HMRC said my first accounting period would run from 17/11/2014 - 16/11/2015...

Got in a spot of bother

Not dissolved, just stopped operations and no corporate income since mid November 2015. Didn't think I could dissolve with outstanding tax but did think it was possible to defer tax payment for at least 6 months. Anyway, not trying to get out of paying, just thought HMRC would give me some...

Got in a spot of bother

I did think about that, but wanted to make sure that because this is corporation debt, that it would not have any negative effect on my personal credit file

Got in a spot of bother

£500 and the same amount thereafter per month until the debt is paid. The amount is slightly over £3000 so call it fully paid up in 7 months.
