Realistically you are going to struggle as a freelancer because as was stated above you will need to be able to visit clients from time to time. People per hour and Odesk are very competitive market places with a lot of competition from India, Pakistan and other similar countries.

You could do worse than phone an app development firm a ring and have an informal and confidential chat with somebody there. You'll get an honest appraisal of your idea and how best to implement it along with the benefit of an NDA to give you peace of mind.
