Hi,
Sorry for the late reply to your question.
I'm an english chartered accountant working in France self-employed, also offering translation services to companies. I pay all french taxes & social security payments here and invoice my customers for my services, thus am not an employee to them. I...
Hi Trev
Sorry to reply only now that you seem to have pretty much sorted out your frenchwebsite set up, but I've only just managed to get online after being cut off from the internet world for a whole 2 months (that's french telephone companies for you!)
I just wanted to say that I live in Lyon...
yeah its quite cool & does come in handy quite often, ie when salespeople call I speak my faster english to scare them off or if frenchies are slagging off les anglais I can catch them in the act, hehe :)
Hi
We live in France and are currently near Fontainebleau. We'll soon be relocated with my husbands work so will be selling up our house if you're interested in aquiring a property in this area?!
Otherwise more seriously, with regards to popular holiday spots over here:
La Gorge de Verdon is...
Bonsoir
Fab plan, love the sound of this different way of promoting your products. Perhaps be careful where you find your customers to ensure that you reach your target market. I assume that you are selling fine products - are they french by any chance?
Where are you based and how does your...
Hi
I've got 3 small kids at home so opted last year to begin my own business from home. I'm based in France and do management and analytical accounts, along with normal bookkeeping type activities too for clients in the UK and France. Definately fits in great with the kids and keeps my mind...
Hi Jim

Just wanted to say thanks again for the fab new computer you built for us, you understood our requirements perfectly and produced a top pc, great efficent job cheers!

Hello
I have my own business from home doing bilingual management accounts etc but otherwise and of more interest to you perhaps, I sell Usborne books. I dont know if you're into kids books, but these are lovely and sell themselves (thankfully as I'm no saleswoman!) The initial investment is...
hello
just to add that I strongly agree with the comments made about checking real figures after ALL deductions and adjustments have been made. Certainly a lot of my customers have been misled by checking periodic accounting statements that havent been reconciled for the year.
Hi David
Thanks for your reply.
I think Paris has more options available than the rest of France with regards to the items mentioned above. As I've often heard said, Paris and France are 2 separate countries!
A bientot

Hi All
Really interesting to read your comments : same as what I've found essentially. From a business sense, this country is not very start-up friendly (cost and bureaucracy wise), and getting anything done takes 100 times more effort than back home in the UK. I'm still mystified as to how...
Hi
I'm based in France so have much more french/international type clients than Brits. I was just wondering who else does business regularly in France and how you find it?
Initially I was quite shocked by the laid back way peeps seem to operate, and the mood swings (blazing arguments then...
doesnt the body shop have a nice range for blokes too?
otherwise, surely a website with email promotions would be enough to get through to the male market? as someone already mentioned, men seem happy to spend hours on the old pc so it seems silly to invest in specific catalogues when they may...
Thanks very much Yusuf for your reply. I'll be escorting her to the bank again next week, so I'll be armed with this info you've just provided me with. I did think that 60 gbp was far too steep and there must be a way of avoiding these ridiculous charges.
Thanks again!
Rachel
