Better off working for the bloody government than trying to make money yourself - grrr
I have reread the letter and I do not have to sign up and pay to comply as long as I make provisions to dispose of the waste with a licensed waste contractor which seems relatively straightforward according...
Is it not possible to comply by offering to accept returned items and then disposing of them according to the regulations - why does it have to cost £150-£200 a year if I can take them to a recycling centre? In reality NOONE is going to return an old clock to me, at least I very much doubt it.
I run a home accessories/gift website. I am a sole trader based from home with a small turnover. I sell a clock that takes an aa battery and today I have received a letter from vca.gov.uk telling me that I am not complying witht eh WEEE Regulation 2006 which I have never heard of before.
I do...
Ok thanks for that too - I don't import from Far East, clocks from Australia and USA, some melamine plates and then handmade decorative items such as cushions, lampshades (flameproof), pictures etc... Nothing that could burst into flames, cause damage or injury.
I'm just a paranoid android!
Hi Geoff,
That's helpful, thank you. Think we are going to sign all over to my husband anyway at least that's a start... Will probably end up going limited eventually, but in the meantime I've weighed up pros and cons and the additional admin/accounting etc... fees don't make it worth it with...
Hi,
I run a small business as a sole trader. I have weighed up my options and I've decided not to go limited for the timebeing due to my small turnover, don't employ anyone, manage my books myself etc...
I sell home accessories and gifts online and have been doing so for 3 years. I do not...
LuckyG - I don't yet ship to USA, I'm not going to until I can find insurance so can't advise on that.
DeniseR - AXA said a big fat no straight off even when I said I knew someone who had it with them.
Dynabid - thanks I'll try them tomorrow.
It seems I have an additional problem now in...
I'm pretty sure I do. I make my own lampshades and cushions and supply clocks I source from outside the EU. I currently have it for selling within UK/EU but want to start selling to USA too.
I've brought this up again, in the hope people can point me in the direction of an insurer who can help.
I have been trying to get quotes for my online shop to trade to USA, but everyone I speak to refuses to touch it and can't offer product liability insurance.
I totally understand it will...
I run an online gift/homewares website, and to date I just package things in any old box with brown tape and stick a docs enclosed label on the front. There's nothing on the box to show my company web address or anything and I think I should make things look a bit more professional.
Not sure...
Hi there,
Had an order, but the card payment has not passed the AVS checked because there is no response from the card issuer. Any suggestions for further check I could make or what you would do?
Thanks a lot,
Alison
