    Linux or Windows

Depending on your needs there are some great ARM devices out there nowadays that will suit many purposes, maybe not as the main workhorse PC. Have a look at the Odroid U3 only $59 plus the postage.

Good look with fixing it but why is it taking so long?

    Cheap VoIP telephone line needed

With regard to these ideas that you may need more than three lines etc, where do you think the phone comes into play? I'm not sure if I am misunderstanding or some people have a misunderstanding of VOIP and the way it works. A phone is a phone, not a PBX. Say your company has a need for 100...

    Voip fone

Russ, if you think people shouldn't be paying more than 0.7 for landline then just out of curiosity, what do you think about mobile? You're bang on the money with the price of landline, in fact it varies, I have had it as low as 0.25 at one point. Providers on here are selling mobile at 7-10p...

    Voip fone

Russ, at that sort of price its probably being used as a loss leader for other products. I do know exactly where you are coming from though and we are trying to plan for the day when the rate hits zero :)

    Voip fone

If you have a voip account why don't you just port the number, surely it will be cheaper?

Has anyone used Coms.com for VOIP phones?

My point is, you do not need to be a member of the ITSPA to meet or even exceed the standards the ITSPA set. It was also pointed out to me when we looked at the ITSPA that it is far from an independent body. You can visit ITSPA member sites and on the home page will find big announcements about...

Has anyone used Coms.com for VOIP phones?

Sorry, have to challenge that, the industry regulator is OFCOM, the ITSPA is a club with a minimum £750 membership fee and there are plenty of providers who specifically choose not to join that club ;-)

New Motherboard - any thoughts ?

I personally wouldn't use RAID 5 on a PC, maybe if you were really wanting it then use hardware RAID. Think of maybe RAID10 if you can stretch to it.

Has anyone used Coms.com for VOIP phones?

Perhaps some of the other providers can comment but I've never even heard of them. That could also mean though that they are problem free and therefore don't get too many mentions.

    Hosting Query?

As I type this, I'm copying files to a new OVH server that I just got, E1245-v2, 32GB RAM, 2x120GB SSD in hardware RAID on a gig pipe, yes, I'll have one of those for less than £50 a month. It will only run a few web sites whuch will be backed up to an online.net SAN and if anything goes wrong...

    Hosting Query?

What hope have people got when people make statements like this. The server is a Hewlett Packard. Since when did HP become junk? Seems to me that most people in this thread offering advice also want to sell the OP something too. The OP may well be advised to visit forums like Web Hosting...

Rackspace or someone else for a managed VPS Solution

Do not rule out hosting outside of the UK. I tend to find that in the UK bandwidth and power cost far more than in many other parts of the EU. You should easily get response times of 40ms or less. I have no horse in this race but I do have a rack in a Manchester data center and I also use...
