    Rates vs Location

Hi everyone. We are on the verge of expanding are business and looking for either an additional warehouse to what we have or another bigger one and wondered if there is any benefit to crossing the boarder into the next Borough. If we decided to keep warehouse 1 and found warehouse 2 over the...

    Paying for Returns?

As its a big company, you loosw thw human touch. Getting through to someone in customer services with authority to break their textbool os linea qould be slim, unless you get through to a manager. I'm confuawd as to why the return postage so high for clothing, whats the weight?

    Paying for Returns?

The spacing of the digits on the postcode shouldn't really effect delivery, but I have come across an attempted delivery in the wrong town with one of my orders, that was with Hermes.... If a courier is unable to deliver, for whatever reason, then it automatically goes back to the sender...

Close to VAT but not ready

Yes, I only learnt this a couple of months ago, but luckily I do my books every month anyway. I had a randon investigation the other year which made me keep a closer check. Our financial year is in-line with HMRC and coincidentally our rolling 12 months looks to fall around that time too. I'm...

Close to VAT but not ready

That's great thanks. Sounds like a doddle now. If I register on time, then I can change my prices etc in line. I already have sound accounts (except for the months the schools are closed) so adding a few extra numbers shouldn't matter. Thank you all, it makes much more sense now :)

Close to VAT but not ready

Thanks everyone. I have another couple of questions if you don't mind. 1, As you register for VAT at the point you hit the threshold, does that mean you need to pay a tax bill for that year gone, or will it be at the end of your first full registered year? 2, Are VAT charges in advance of the...

    Distance Selling Regulations

I noticed this change a few days ago. I referee back to these rules if I get an awkward customer, but couldn't see any obvious changes. I assumed it was more of a general message for all the regulations.

Close to VAT but not ready

Hi all I'm an eCommerce seller with about 95% of my sales coming from eBay. This year has been tough, but its also turning out to be the year that I am pushing the VAT threshold, and expect to hit it within the next few months, but this is causing me a great deal of concern. Even though sales...

    Sole Trader Stock Inventory

As a Sole Trader am I required by HMRC to have a current stock inventory. Obviously having one is beneficial in its self, but it does pose complications. I sell online and on car boots (these can get so busy that I would need to stock in then out when loading/unloading) I also buy items that...

    Warehouse/ Stock Insurance

We struggled to get insurance for a similar situation. I sell online, but the stock is so varied it cant be put into one category. I have market traders insurance with The Market Traders Fed as we also sell out on carboots and markets (its good for shifting the slow moving stock) They put me in...
