Does anyone have any experience of Raw Marketing?

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of Raw Marketing?
They are offering people to be on the front page of Google for £100 a month. Is this done through AdWords? Are they similar to MatchMaker Marketing?

Thanks for you help,

Zoe

Not heard of them!

They may get you to the front page, but before you sign on the dotted line check:
Is it PPC or natural listings. I could get you on the PPC for any word you wanted by paying £30 per click - but after 3 clicks per month you would be gone
Exactly what keywords or phrase will they get you on the front page for
If it is PPC, how many clicks will you get?
How many times are those keywords searched for each month (google tools can give you this)?
What is your conversion from a visitor, and your profit - is it worth it?
If natural listings, what methods do they use? Will any be considered 'spam'?

If they cannot answer these, be wary. Be especially wary if their main service offering is to submit you to search engines, as most will index you pretty quickly anyway.

Yes i know raw marketing i recently signed with them about a month ago and to be fair their services has been excellent so far. I've had a few enquires which is covering my cost with them and making me profit, so can't be a bad thing.

I went for their bronze package and i'm thinking of doing seo, plus their 6 page website look fairly good for £100

Anyways i know there are dodgy companies out there and i've been stung by them but hey these are proving ok for now, so fingers crossed

Using an adword management company is not neccesarily a bad thing - if you do not want to do it yourself, they can get more clicks for your money than a badly-designed campaign. To get the best out of it, you will need to do at least some site optimisation (so each major keyword has a specific page to point at).

Adwords is great for generating interest, but can cost a lot of money fast if you are not careful - whether you are doing it yourself or though an agency.

If your not doing adword and its relevent to your business, then someone managing the campain for you is not a bad idea.

From the media buying compaies i have delt with they will normal not charge a setup fee or managment fee but a fixed percentage of your ad spend for running the campain. Percentage is normally dependant on monthly spend.

so if someone puts a positive comment u assume im a staff...thats silly

to be honest couldnt care if you used them. At the end of the day i run 3 businesses and need to promote online. So saving me time which equals money, i nominated raw marketing to do the service and yer so far they have been good and you know what they have been in communication with me every step of the way...so please dont comment if you are just trying to be funny.

If you need to get on google they can provide a good package where you don't come off plus they aslo offer seo.

YES. DON'T GO NEAR RAW MARKETING! Tell all your friends and colleagues and post as much bad press about them as possible. Just stolen £179 from me and posted an advert with the incorrect web address so nobody can click on it. It is not unlimited either and will quickly run out. Stick to Google Adwords. This company are crooks. I keep calling them but they will not return my calls and have refused to refund my money.

I have written to my credit card company who are looking in to it. I am also writing to Google to have them removed from the natural listings, Trading Standards and may speak to the Police regarding fraud.

As for MJ Barton his full name is Mathew Barton and is the salesman who sold me the advertising. (see his comments below) I think they tell you all you need to know about this company. Looking to post more bad press about Raw Marketing. Does anyone have any ideas?

Just so you know Raw Marketing have refunded my money and explained that the posting of the incorrect web address was a genuine mistake.
Their sales technique leave a lot to be desired but apologies to them if they are a genuine set up. MJ Bartons posting on this site was enough to make me suspicious of their set up.

I hope that the poor customer service they provided me is not a reflection on their other companies and this indeed may not be the case. [removed by mod - unrelated company info] certainly look like good set ups so it's a shame that my experience with Raw has clouded my judgement.

Yes, and it is not a good one.
We signed up with Raw Marketing in the hope of promoting our web site.
The initial fee was £100.00 with cancellation within the first 30 days if we felt it was not working for us.
We didn't recieve any more hits on our site than we had already been getting prior to signing with Raw Marketing and so we cancelled our contract with them within the specified cancellation period.
Raw Marketing acknowledge the cancellation and we thought that was that.
Not to be - Having instructed my bank NOT to pay further fees to this company, Raw Marketing has still managed to secure two further payments AFTER we cancelled. I have now instructed my banks fraud department to deal with the matter
I WOULD NOT TOUCH RAW MARKETING WITH THE PROVERBIAL BARGE POLE.

Raw Marketing contacted me this morning offering me an Adwords campaign for £100 per month for 5 keyword phrases, with no click charges. However, the salesman then spoilt it by telling me that they were able to get this deal from Google because Bing was nearly level with them in the search engine stakes. He even quoted figures to back this up! - If you're make stuff up at least try to make it believable!

The email he followed-up with states "Recent statistics show that over 70% of all internet enquiries go through Google". Not sure how that equates with Bing and Google being neck-and-neck.

Their online agreement promises "to generate no less than 5 first page adverts on google.co.uk everyday for one calendar month". Sounds good on the face of it. However, the agreement isn't exactly watertight: it doesn't specify all day everyday, and what does "5 first page adverts" mean: 5 impressions?

Be interested to hear from anyone else who has used their services (excluding employees of Raw Marketing!).

I've noticed these posts and thought i should add a comment. I got cold cold by Raw Marketing and i signed up for the google package, then realised they did web design so i took them up on there offer.

I've had both services and so far its been excellent. There design to detail is excellent, and have also created a fantastic brand. They took care of everything for me, including the domain registration.

They do marketing for christian audigier and at the end of the day someone with his calibre is not going to use a average company.

So well done Raw Marketing...:)

i have just agreed a concept and funding with my business partners and will be launching 25 cafes in the next 5 years in and around uk starting in cheshire. i have a new marketing company on board highly professional and a pleasure to work with. you can never doubt someones experience they have had with a previous company(s) all you can do is pass on that experience and hope someone else does not get burnt. business is tough enough already.

They are selling a service that they are unable to deliver. They "guarantee" front page position on google for specific phrases which are supposedly unique slots only available to one subscriber first come first served. This is bull.

They're selling simple ppc google adwords management and they are very poor at delivering it.

I could do it myself better for less than one-tenth the cost. They add no value.

When questioned they claim not to receive emails and they do not terminate when requested. I am claiming back all money paid to them via chargeback on my credit card.

I recommend not touching them and if you already have and are unhappy, get your money back, all it takes is a quick letter to your credit card company.

Yes I have used them and they got me on the front page of google where they said they would put me, for my free trial for a month, however they did not ask if I wanted to continue, they just held on to my credit card details without my permission, thus breaking the Data protection act and have drawn at least one other payment, possibly two using credit card information they did not have permission to use. I am awaiting bank statements to see how many additional payments they have taken.

This evening I contacted them and i'm now awaiting their response. I suggest if you wish to use them you pay by cheque.

This I feel is aggressive marketing at its worst. A great pity because had they not have done this I may have continued to use them. I am currently a student running a small business so every penny counts and they have taken me overdrawn and made it impossible to market my business locally as I went to the bank and had no funds....

This will now loose me money. Do not give them your credit card details and becareful what you agree to on the phone as some verbal agreements are binding and some companies tape you.

Hi,
Today I have asked for my money back from Raw Marketing. They have replied with a big fat NO and quoted me the terms and conditions of their web site. I suggest anyone considering dealing with this company not to. I was cold called numerous times and decided to give them a go. I did not get set up initially as promised it took about two weeks. I only agreed a one month trial with a set number of key words I was told I was not entering into an agreement. I paid by my normal debit card. I was not asked to set up a standing order or a direct debit mandate. I thought this is great, like placing an ad in a local newspaper I could pay for a single month’s advertising and see how it went ... wrong they lock you in to an agreement but decline to tell you. In fact they go out of their way to tell you that you are not locked in to any agreement it is only a trial. I was told one month trial and they would review how it had worked for me and I was then told at the end of one month I could leave, or if I wished to stay with them that I could choose a package from one of 3 options, at no point was I told they had already signed me into those options. Beware! they kept my card details on file without my permission and then used my details to continue extracting money from my account, I will let you decide if this is fraudulent and theft or legitimate practice. Today I have been told that I am signed into their terms and conditions.
I did not order a package, I agreed only to a one month trial. I expected at the end of a trial to then decide whether to enter into a more formal agreement or not. Do not be deceived, they are very clever as they tell you it is a trial and claim you are not locked in to anything. I made it very clear that I would only take the trial on the understanding that it ended after a month, I also made it clear that I do not trial anything that requires me to cancel in writing that I do not wish to continue. Deception is easy as you are not sold the package, you are sold the trial.
I have been offered return of one month’s advertising and some free advertising. They have taken 2 months unauthorised payments from me. I want the money back I did not agree too! Which is 2 payments of £100.00. They insist that they made me fully aware of the terms.
I ask these questions, if they are not trying to deceive me then why did they not set up a direct debit arrangement? Why did they not supply me with a written contract with the terms and conditions on? Why did they keep my card details recorded on their system and break the data protection act. Why have they only sent me an invoice for my trial month if they were not trying to deceive?
I thought I had covered everything, the fact is once armed with your personal details there is no control over the way they use your card details or process your agreement. Today they have told me they did not offer me a trial they say I was fully aware of the contract... The web site now on the internet is not the same site as they gave me to log on to when they cold called me, the one they showed me was said it was a trial for one month only. Perhaps they cold call and switch websites to suit their needs for deception.

I have tried for several days now to get the money back raw marketing stole from my bank account and they have refused. I have now incured bank charges, I cannot reoder products for my business so now Im a beauty therapist in a very small business and now can only perform treatments on clients where I have products in. Im am now loosing work because of this company.

If they kept their word there would be no problem.

They are not honarable my experience has been the same as others!

Today they will be issued with a letter and if they do not comply I will take them to the small calimes court as they are arogant, this is not an accident it is calculated deseption.

Prime example of a company trying to maliciously take advantage of people who know nothing about search engine results. Tell you what, give me nothing and I'll get you to the top of the sponsored listings, at least then you'll save yourself a oner..

Their examples are ridiculous: 'home health in milton keynes for under a fiver' or something. Rah.

Hi, derrycarne

We read your post with great interest, as exactly the same thing happened to us when we registered with RAW Marketing for a one month trial period in October 2009. The saga is still ongoing.
We should be most interested to find out how you resolved your situation and hope you read this.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

If you paid by credit cad it is easy. I wrote to my credit card company (NatWest, Chargebacks Team) and told them that Raw Marketing failed to deliver the service contracted. I also mde it clear that I had signed up for a one month trial not a recurring monthly service. On this basis neither of the two transactions (initial charge and a subsequently monthly charge) were not valid. NatWest charged back both amounts and I have all of my money back.

If you paid any other way then you can also write to your bank to get your money back. No one is allowed to remove money from your account without your authority and if you have cancelled a service or not been provided a service then the bank has to refund you. They will get the money back from Raw Marketing.

You may also need to cancel your credit card and get a new one to prevent any future charges.

Hit these people where it hurts - in the pocket. Get your money back and they will be out of business as they deserve to be.

Good luck and let me know if any of you need any more information on how to get your money back from the Raw Marketing fraudsters.

Thank you for taking time to reply. We had contacted our bank (Barclays) when we realised they were taking money out every month. We had paid by debit card (a one-off payment for the trial month of £ 115). Apart from that, our scenario is identical to yours in every other way. Bank referred us o their Debit Card Customer Service who said they could not do anything until we filled out a form to be sent to us. Did that as soon as we received it. Then found out that they were still taking money out of our account and went back to Debit Card customer service who now say we should have completed 2 forms, one for disputing money taken, one for cancelling the "continuous payment" set up. We never agreed or discussed such a "continous set up" with Raw Marketing. How can it be possible that the bank will arrange such a set up without the signature of the joint account holders? We only received 1 invoice for the first payment, no further invoices. Our business name was misspelled and despite our efforts not corrected, we did not appear under all of the key words agreed, and we did not appear in the main body of Google as promised but tucked away on the right hand margin ... Raw Marketing are a joke, and their cold calling and sales team must surely be in on the deceit ...
Really glad to hear that you got your money back. Did you inform Trading Standards and/or Fraud Office ?
Regards

There is a saying "Put up or shut".

You said you have a website built buy them please post it on here with out the www. and let us look at this wonderful website.
Its strange that you did not include it in your profile

By the way what's your name.

Type babelounge into Google... Perhaps the first link?

I won't post the link on here however.

I can't check the site to see if Raw Marketing have been involved with the design/marketing of it as I have got children in the same room as me, heh.

I emailed and spoke to this company requesting a 1month trial only, to which they agreed. Now when they insist on a 30day cancellation period, the 'taped sales lines' which would prove the verbal agreement 'are no longer available' ie:they don't exist.

3 months later I have not been able to rid myself of these parasites (they have double charged twice, not the agreed £50 either but £76.38 twice each month).

My ad appeared during the first month but I have not seen it on google for a month now.

I have spoken with them several times, emailed them and sent registered(signed for) post warning them of further action and making it crystal clear that I did not want there service and yet they continue to charge.

I have reported them to my private banking credit card fraud department.

Recommendation, I think not, they are bottom feeders.

Dear JReady,
As you know, the same has happened to us.
We agreed a 1-month trial too and are still battling with our bank to
stop Raw Marketing taking unauthorised monthly amounts of £ 100 out
of our bank account. It is a total nightmare.
Did you report them to Trading Standards too?
Please get in touch.

Hi lbc22.

No I didn't. I would love to though, whats the route to do this?

I have just cancelled my credit card and requested a new one. No way they can continue to charge.

Natwest Card Dept will listen and I will get all of my money back.

If your bank won't listen, cancel the account, this will certainly stop them from taking any more money from you!

Squash parasites!

Type in "Trading Standards" plus the place where you live into Google and you will get details. I think all of us on this forum who have been affected by the Raw Marketing scam should get together and submit a complaint to Trading Standards together so that they can see that you and I are not isolated cases. How would we best go about this ?

Dear all,

Hope that you all manage to get your money back via credit card companies - they will get it back from raw so there's only one loser in the end: Raw Marketing.

Please report your experiences to Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06. They will collate all of the reports and pass them on to trading standards. The more reports they receive the more action they will take to put these people out of business and more.

Greater Manchester Police, Trading Standards, Google themselves and the Serious Fraud Office are investigating a whole series of these companies for their activities as there are many of them in that local area (Manchester, Sale etc) all operating the same business model and all are a big scam.

All they are doing is charging you a premium for google adwords placement that is usually worth a small fraction of what you pay. Most importantly, they will not deliver what they promise.

The opening line of "a slot for your business sector in your area on page one of google has just become available" is a blatant lie. These slots do not exist - just ask google.

Good luck in getting your money back and putting these people out of business and where they belong.

Hi I posted on here about Raw marketing several months ago. I run a small beauty business while compleating a degree with hope to expand in a few months. Raw marketing have hit me hard as they emptied my bank account when I needed to buy new products. I lost all my christmas trade and Jan and Fed are quite months, this has led me to having to ask for extended credit from my supplier.
Barcelys bank gave me the money back and then took it back from me a few days ago without warning thus taking me overdrawn. It is still being investigated but I have decided to close my account as I have had enough this has cost me in both time and money. I would like to take Raw Markerting to court but feel I will get no where if I do this alone I feel they must be stopped! Learning the hard way is not funny. They missrepresented themselves when selling me their product and held my card details with out permission then used them two months later without permissipn this is Fraud and everyone lets them get away with it... this is steeling!
