    Hi,
    Decide to call myself Rain on these forums for no apparent reason, guess I just chose the most random name off the top of my head. People call me Nathan I've been interested in business since as long as I can remember...Literally, Since Primary school about he age of 9 or 10 (maybe 11) I’ve held a Kind of Business state of mind, I used to sell Sweets I Bought from the store near my house and sell them during break in Primary school, Id always Buy sweets I’d never seen before and bring them in and sell them on with like a 15-20% profit on each sweet. I grew up changed schools and developed into a money hungry Hustler, only for a few months, which I didn’t like.
    Ure not supposed to sell things in school But I did any way, almost got kicked out so I stopped, Then started getting into trouble etc etc...
    By Year9 It was time to Choose what id be doing with my life People were pressuring me for different things...everything but business, and it was luck that I did infact end up choosing a business Course.I Learned the know how and Now after about 2yrs of studying business im in College.
    Next question I guess ure asking is..."How old is he"...Im 17Yrs old, And Im growing up with Jokers that aren’t really serious about anything.
    I hope this forum IS indeed active and not dead like many ive seen, and I HOPE! People don’t judge me because of my Age...
    In future I’d like to Own my own Business and I am currently working on different Plans and scenarios, Id also like to Make Investments into other businesses if im successful, but that’s a different subject.

    Life role Models...Richard Branson, Alan Sugar and Simon Nixon.
    Very different people and I like them each for different reasons.


    Again hope im not judged because of my age...I also Hope to speak to some People that have had Succesfull and non-successful Business.

    This isn’t the first forum ive signed to, I signed up to another but its not really active, the above is the intro i previously did at the other forum hope you guys don’t mind, its just that I’d just be repeating myself. id also like to add; is there anyone that has started a business failed, and the gone on to success? i'd really like to know. thanks

    I have never had a business fail, but I fail almost everyday in business, in that you try things and they don't work. The important thing is to keep on trying until you get it to succeed.

    Also if you have a business idea, don't be put off by what other people say or think. Do your own research, go by what you feel and stick at it. Go out there and make it work.

    There will be days when you fail and everything goes wrong but that makes you appreciate the days when things go right and you succeed.

    I have been in business for many years and each year that goes by, I think it is more about persistence and the passion to see your idea through.

    I started in business at 19 years of age when everyone said I was too young and I should go and get a job, but I knew what I wanted and went for it (as they say).

    So I don't think age is a barrier, it certainly wasn't for me when I first started. It is the passion inside of you for what you are doing that allows you to take action.

    I would say follow your dream and your passion.

    Thanks for the support Gary, this is a very inspirational comment, Yeah i do have people telling me im too young, and i even have people telling me i cant do it, i just about get support from my parents. to tell the truth the thing that drives me the most is, when im allittle older I may have a Wife and hopfully kids, i want to be able to pay Bills, and get my children presents on their birthdays, do everthing i May not have had while i have been growing up.

    I know i Sound like im growing up t fast, people tell me to focus on partying etc... but id prefer not to, My sister Is Very Sucessfull shes able to go on holiday when she pleases, she's able to get the car she wants and i'd like to be able to do the same.

    By 20-25 i want to be looking into opening my Business, And If i fail, I try again.

    some People think you should wait, But if i wait by the time im 30 some other lucky person would have come along and done the same thing i'd like to do.

    You and Gary are living proof it can work once you work hard at it...thank you.

    You're never too young!! I'm 16 and run an online sim free mobile phone store. I had the idea at the age of 14 :D Luckily my voice sounds mature so I can pass off on telephone calls as an adult, which would be a problem if a customer calls and realises they are speaking to a 16 year old. It's a shame I know, but people still lack belief in us!


    Remember there is no such thing as failure, only a lesson!! If you have any questions, just ask and I'll try my best :) What sort of business are you thinking of?

    WoW, thanks for the support...and that goes to everyone, you've really started a Business at the age of 16, thats something to be proud about, i do have alot of people telling me im too young, i try not to let them get to me too often.

    The business im interested in opening is a retail business focusing on Media and Games, Kind of like blockbuster or CEX, CEX is a better example tbh.
    I know i ill obviously be in competition with Realy Big Brands like Woolworth's, Amazon, CEX etc... but thats the whole point of finding yourself a unique selling point i guess, and i do still have time to do so, I know i want it to be media/games based but id also like to include other items such as Phones, MP3/4 Players, I still have time to go over everything and plan it all, I just want to make sure i got the basics done first like how to fund it all?, Sole-trade Or LTD? Location? etc etc.

    One thing i do know is though, I Kinda want it to start online, I spoke to some guys from IBM that came down to my college and they kinda gave me the idea of doing so. (marketing/advertising)
