Legal action to stop Spam mail?

I have repeatedly unsubscribed from receipt of emails from a company running 'awards evenings' multiple times for the past 5 years. Initial offers to take part, followed by 'hey, just in case you missed my last email' etc., etc.,

Can I take legal action to prevent further invasion?

NOTE: I've just realised I posted on this subject back in 2022, took what I thought was appropriate action, which did stop a lot of spam getting through.

Just report them to the ICO

what @Newchodge said worked for me when I reported a UK company to them.

When I had an issue with a recruitment consultant constantly sending me unsolicited mail, I traced their emails to identify the server was with Virgin and complained to them. They took no action, so I threatened them with Ofcom.

I never heard from the recruitment consultant again.

This, and the above, will only be of use of the company sending the emails is based in the UK.

You always can choose "unsubcriber" to void unexxpected email or mark it as spam. it 's will be waste too long time to use legal action

When you unsubscribe are you unsubscribing from a specific list or campaign? It could be that the unsubscribe is only removing you from that campaign rather than their complete database. I would contact them and ask to be put in touch with their data controller.

I have known people do this, so I am speaking from experience, hope this helps.

I get dozens of corporate style emails, for finance, energy, recruitment etc., The one's that have the look of a leaflet/flyer, on top of those received that brought about this post. I mean, I like to be popular but not this much. A whole new thread - and a genuine one - is the rise in middle aged women following my business page on Facebook., the majority of users of which are male?

UPDATE: I replied to the latest email with attachments of every piece of spam sent in recent years with notification of action through legal channels if my email addresses weren't removed from their lists and received an apology and assurance that it would be done.
