Hey, everyone, I could do with some help! I'm looking for your recommendation on removal companies to use in Redditch or any that can cover the Redditch area? I need your expert advice on how much you'd expect it to cost as it's my first time moving and I am not sure whether a removal company or a man with a van would be the best option. I have a 2 bedroom house currently which I will need to remove both beds, 2 wardrobes, sofa, TV and other common household furniture from. What would you all expect the cost of this removal to be? Btw the destination is only 15 minutes away so it isn't a long drive if they charge you for distance also.

Personally I would go with a good quality man in a van, but you should ensure they have all the correct GIT insurances etc, so if anything happens you can make a claim.

No decent company or sole trader will object to the questions being asked, read real references as well. A lot of man in a van are Eastern European’s using their company transit in the evenings.

Beware though, too cheap and they will probably not turn up on time on the day, your offer having been gazumped. I used to get higher offers all the time, but my reputation was worth more than one fast buck to myself, once accepted I always did the job.

Regarding moving, consider hiring a professional removal team. They'll have the experience, equipment, and workforce to carefully handle your furniture and belongings. As for cost, it really depends on the company you choose and the level of service you need. A man with a van may be cheaper, but they may not have the same level of professionalism or insurance coverage as a professional removal team.

The OP wanted to move 3 years ago, he/she has probably got it sorted by now.

    Hi there!

For your move, it sounds like you’re weighing the options between a full removal company and a man with a van service. Since you’re only moving a short distance and have a moderate amount of furniture, a man with a van could be a cost-effective option.

To help you get a better idea of what to expect in terms of cost and services, we’ve covered this topic in more detail on our blog. You can check out our articles on mwvan.uk/blog—they provide insights into pricing, service comparisons, and tips on how to make your move as smooth as possible.

Best of luck with your move! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
