The beginning of the end?

I was commenting on the news that the new director of communications thought it was a good idea to publicise that, during discussions about his post, Johnson sang 'I will survive' to him. That appears to me to be a director of communications who takes very seriously the plan for Johnson to come across as more serious and committed to the job.
Ah, thanks Cyndy. How silly of me.

In that case, it looks like Boris is a fantastic leader who we should all look up to after all. Long may he continue to instill his fine values in us all. And his children.

More a general question over everything that's been going on with regards to parties etc...so do you find it acceptable?

I'm more concerned about his appalling taste in wine. The latest 'bombshell' photo to be leaked shows a bottle of cheap prosecco, but no glasses. Churchill would turn in his grave to know one of his successors was drinking prosecco out of the bottle!

(You put your left leg in, left leg out!)

Johnson's allies are said to have submitted between five and ten letters of no confidence in a "hokey cokey" strategy. This means that if the number of letters goes over the 54 threshold, Johnson loyalists will withdraw them when Sir Graham Brady phones round to check their views have not changed.
Just to expand on that story - apparently, Sir Graham Brady has made it clear that there will be no phone-round in the event of 54 letters being reached. He will merely call for the vote without any warning. So the Hokey-Cokey tactic has had to be abandoned (assuming it existed!)

By-election in Birmingham March 3rd and local elections in May.

Can we find out how many letters have been submitted so far, or is it a big secret?

Is Brady trustworthy, and if not, what’s stopping him telling porkies? Is there some kind of independent overseer?

    Sounds confidence-inspiring! ?
Surely you are not implying that a Member of Parliament could be considered untrustworthy? What is this world coming to?
