    Hi guys,

can anyone recommend a thermal label printer that works with royal mail labels as well (apparently royal mail supply them for free?).

It will be used to print shipping labels from my shopify site for now as you can pay for postage as well whilst fullfilling each order through the shopify platform. Seems the best way?

    Thanks

That zebra printer is worth every bit of money they are asking for. No need to buy from RM. If you can't afford to spend £200 on a label printer that actually works properly and doesn't break down all the time than there is something off in the business adventures. Also used zebras on ebay go for around £100.

There was a discounted price offered by RM when we signed up to get the Zebra 420 through Barcodewarehouse - wasn't a massive drop iirc, but made it cheaper than anywhere else - presumably you have an business account to get the labels so maybe speak to your account manager to see if money off is available and what you need to provide the supplier with.

This discount seems to be perpetually available. A few times I've just emailed BarcodeWarehouse direct and they've just sent me a form to fill in.

    Seems a little steap.

Was ideally looking for around £100.

I could do it the long way (mono laser printer) to start until I see sales pickup and then the Zebra basically pays for itself?

I've got 4 Zebras peppered around my desk ...worth their weight in gold.

Paid as little as £50 on Ebay for one, £90 for another...I pushed the boat out for the others & paid £150~£200.

Seriously, you're viewing the outlay all wrong ...money spent on things that save you time = good (frees you up to be more productive elsewhere). I've just ponied up for a 23" touch screen monitor...£300 (a lot of a 23" monitor), but when I'm packing I don't have to sit down, find my mouse...I can interact with my screen while moving about = time saved (therefore money well spent)
