Personal emails within a working group

Hi,
A simple enough question I think for someone in the know: I help run a club. We are a committee of a dozen people and the club has about 200 members.

If we block send an email to all our 200 members i.e. about an up coming event, I understand the logic in hiding the personal email addresses by sending bcc. However, It has been said that between the members of the committee we have to do that too! That means that if the chairman sends out a report or something just to us in the committee, we can't all just 'reply all' to discuss. We are talking about personal addresses here, not corporate addresses which I guess would be different.

Help!

You are right in respect of “member” broadcasts to bcc the message but if it’s a committee communication between committee members I would consider it fine to email as normal. No need to bcc if all parties are known to each other already.

As a general rule, If the recipients will already know the email/names of the other recipients there is no need to bcc.
