Open an running a Ltd

Hi there. I am new here. I live in Uk and i would like to open a Ltd company and run a IT service (computer, phones, tablets, tv`s repair) center and maybe a little electronics shop.
I am looking to rent a space to run the bussines.
Can someone give me some advices? i have few questions.. :)
1. At this moment i live in a rented flat. can i register the company at this addres for the moment?
2.What do i have to do exactly to open a ltd ?(i know that i have to register the ltd to house companies)
3. Do i need to have some certification, accreditation to run a shop and repair service?Or what do i have to do to run this bussines?
4. On a rented space what costs do i have beside the rent and utility bills?

If i will speak with an accoutant it will give me all the advices that i need to open and run this type of bussiness? And should i talk with an accoutant from my area or can be online?
I am new in this and i don`t know all the legislation.
Thank you

1. Yes
2. Use a formation company, accountant or do it yourself via companies house.
3. Public and/or Proffesional Liability Insurance
4. Service charges, insurances.

You'd be advised to find an accountant (personally I prefer local but can be remote), who could properly advise you if becoming Ltd is actually going to be of any benefit to you.

You would need to check with your landlord. Unlikely you would be able to run a shop from your flat. You can buy an 'accommodation address' if you can't use your flat address.

2.What do i have to do exactly to open a ltd ?(i know that i have to register the ltd to house companies)
    Have a look here https://www.gov.uk/starting-up-a-business/start-with-an-idea

Lots of IT people I know do have accreditation, but I don't know if this is a requirement. I would suggest you research and put together a business plan to help you understand what sort of business you want to run and the costs involved. Do make sure you have enough funding to keep going for six months to a year before you make a profit.

    4. On a rented space what costs do i have beside the rent and utility bills?
It depends on your business - staffing, insurance, marketing, business rates, stock, equipment, transport etc

An accountant is there to help you manage the financial aspect of running your business. They aren't there to tell you how to run your business. You can either use an online service or someone local - whatever you prefer.

    Thank you

Hi @Emil B. on from @PipeTen-Carl's comment about insurance, you may also want some stock cover given the type of work you're doing.

    To clarify:

Public liability insurance will cover you for damage to third party property (not necessarily including the item you're working on) and injury to members of the public.

Professional indemnity insurance will cover you for negligence in your work that may result in a financial loss for your client.

Stock cover would cover you for the items in your possession whilst you repaired them etc.

Hope that clears it up and best of luck with business moving forward :)
