Silver vans

yes i'm talking complete rubbish and i'm incredibly dumb according to these forums. Everything i say is completely wrong and i dont even know what day of the week it is.
I'm almost as dumb as What Car magazine apparently, who published this:

The reason for the change is simple: when police cars reach the end of their working life they are sold at auction, and silver cars command a higher price than those painted white.
Kent was the first police force to switch to silver patrol cars, but most have now followed suit.
Oh and Netcars are also really silly as well look, they published this:
The paint colour of the cars has also been changed in some cases, due predominantly to the idea that black or silver cars have a higher resale
best make them change all of those articles as they are wrong aren't they?

Vans are very , very boring you put things in them and move things from one point to another and thats it really
They have a commercial vehicle show in Birmingham every year and I could not think of anything more dull to attend
The only time I have found a van exciting was a few years ago when I lost control of one on the A39 and with the back end resting on the hedge the police had to shut the road

Hehe. My van isn't boring. 190bhp Caddy Maxi Sportline...looks mint. Even had a guy pull me up in the middle of York the other week to congratulate me on having a nice van
Weird but funny.
You may get a better resale value with silver but it isn't actually cheaper for the manufacturer to paint a van in silver rather than white.

Well it must be because thats how the world works. Fleet cars will be sold in silver because the resale value is higher, therefore it is cheaper to paint them silver than white..because you'll sell more in silver..otherwise you'll just end up with lots of white vans that cannot be sold to fleet users e.g. the police.
Although from 2010/2011 white vehicles are on the up again as they've become a more luxury image e.g. Ford and Citroen sporty hatchbacks are now in white as people have started requesting that colour when they buy a new car from the manufacturer.

You made a comment that white vans are no longer being made, which is completely innacurate. I thought it was a joke - your response was to post an article pubilsed in 2010 about the colour of Police cars?

No I posed a question with the "?" after it as I had read that white vehicles were becoming an optional colour choice rather than a standard. e.g. the Police vehicles are now silver instead of white.

Without having the stats for all the police vehicles registered in the UK I could not agree or disagree with the article.
However, I can 100% guarantee that silver paint is not a free option on vehicles unless the trim level of the vehicle dicates that it is.
e.g Renault trafic Sport vans are not produced in white paint, you have to have either Silver or Black.
I would love to see the article you have read that states white vehicle are becoming an "optional colour"
