Friends,

My limited company has been dormant since incorpation in April 09. Even so I've been requested to complete a Corporation Tax Return and am in the process of completing it with zeros pretty everywhere.

On the balance sheet I enter £1 in 'Called up share capital', as this is the amount of shares I hold according to the Memorandum of Association, but the resultant message is "The balance sheet does not tally. Shareholders funds must equal the total net assets (liabilities). Please check you figures and correct your entries as necessary'.

My question is how do I correct this?

Thank you.

Do you mean a CT600 Corporation tax return or are you trying to complete dormant company accounts online with Companies House?

If its the dormant company accounts if the shares havent been paid for the missing entry will be a debtor for unpaid shares.

"The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities effective January 2005."

there are extensive help files on the Companies house website to enable you to fill in the boxes. Alos, unlike HMRC for example, when you ring them up they are usually genuinely helpful.

This could be a long process if you post on here when you get to every box.
