Sole Trader Registered Address? Uk-PLC etc?

Hi guys

I am looking to register myself as a sole trader very shortly.

I have come across UK-PLC where I can register the business with themselves using their address and any post gets sent to me.

For £60 annual fee including 10 postal items etc.

Has anyone have any experience of these?

And also are there any other companies on here that do this?

Any feedback will be thanked and repped.

Regards

Anyone?
Cheers

You are asking on a sunday.... 11am Monday morning and I'm sure you would get more responses.

However, UK PLC will form the company as LTD, this isn't applicable to you if you want to be a sole trader - you need to follow this http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/selfemployed/register-selfemp.htm

There are plenty of people of here who form Ltd companies but the only step as a sole trader is to register with HMRC, i think only you or your accountant can do this.

As for mail forwarding etc, shop around, theres plenty of virtual address services out there. I just use my home address for everything so I can't give you a recommendation.

EDIT:

I am confused.

After spending several hours today understanding this virtual address etc, I am still confused.

I will shortly be renting a property, with the ability to run a business from it in the contract.

What I want is:
Somewhere be it a virtual office/address for me to register my company with HMRC.
I understand that HMRC need your 'home' address also.

Ideally somewhere where I can pick up post or have mail sent to me.

I will be a sole trader, on my website I want to be able to put an address, but not my home address.

Anyone clarify this, I am extremely confused..

Cheers

Right - this is the forum that you will use to register for self employment, on this you will put your virtual address and your home address.

For virtual address services try someone like this - http://www.bizspace.co.uk/servicetypes/mailboxes/10

Once you have signed up for an address, then you can put this on your website, register with HMRC etc.

Hope this helps??

Hi
thanks for the reply.

I understand this.

However when looking on some of the sites for virtual address etc earlier today.
They do not let me use them because I am a sole trader, I am struggling to find somewhere to use as a virtual office/address as a sole trader.

Cheers

A quick google search for 'virtual offices for sole traders' came up with these people
http://www.yourcityoffice.com/sole-trader.php

I looked at these earlier, and they actually called me back.
However they said, they can register me at the london address (I am from the midlands), and they couldnt just register me at a midlands address.

Ideally I would like a local address, thus any correspondence can be picked up etc.

Why not have a PO Box and redirect the post to your home address? Why don't you want post direct to your home address?

I am a sole trader, work from home and have all business mail come to me at my home address. I have the address on my website and business cards. What's the problem with having your address showing?

If you were ltd and working from home, you would have to register that address as your business address and it would have to be shown on all correspondence - at least as a sole trader you are not legally required to show your address on website or any other paperwork, if you don't want to.
