Unless your spelling and grammar is normally considerably better than that of which you have shown, I wouldn't even bother attempting to run a website.

Why free hosting? Does this allow you to use your own domain name does it? Or were you planning to redirect your own domain names to your free web space.

What exactly are you wanting to build a website for? Do you have a plan?

It's txt spk blud....

Can't understand much as she says but I got the gist, that they wanted to create a website to make money so she doesn't need to scrounge off the dole...

You need to learn to spell, you need to find a way you're going to make money, you need to learn how the web works and how to do business.

The old age theory of 'any one can make money online' isn't true anymore. You need to have a plan on how you want to make money e.g. advertising, dropshipping, selling

Why not hire a company who design websites & have been writing scripts for Radio, and TV for 7 years? In addition to working with some great publishing companies.

If you would like to talk about your website plans, feel free to drop me a PM.

Oh...yeah...we understand text speak too!

hi

how about your local business link / business link?

While they will not set up /run your business for you - that has to come from within - they should be able to help with the basics such as basic bookkeeping/marketing etc

I found them useful not so much for actual business generation but for helping you to get into the right frame of mind ie someone like yourself starting a business from scratch........

My word reading this post hurt my head some what.

Ok so i dont think anyone helped you at all here to be honest.

If you want a template to get you going try www.templatemonster.co.uk

If you need to learn html and css try www.w3schools.com or www.echoecho.com

If you need help with your server go to www.names.co.uk and get some hosting from them. If you can make some money. £9 a month for hosting wont kill you.

If your still having trouble there is always some one on here trying to boost there portfolio and offering free websites.

If you want it done by a company you are looking at £500 - £15,000 depending on who you use.

Off course having a website is the be all and end all. Remember you need to market the business or the site wont work.

As a quick rule of thumb this should be about 10% of your turnover. So do a cashflow forecast and then you will know what you need to spend.

You say you can make money out of the idea. What market research have you actually done. Why not get some mates together and talk it through with them and see what they think.

Any way thats a start.

you would better to pay for setting a website, free template looks unprofessional and it not good to use.

I disagree. You can find many effective good looking free website templates to start a site with or some very low cost premium off the shelf templates. If you are on a low budget I especially recommend this as your way to get a site up and running.

http://www.templatesbox.com/

When the money starts to come in consider splashing out on a custom design then.

However, if you are planning on selling high end products/services at expensive prices, then I would suggest getting a professional designer to build the site from the start. What sort of price range are your products going to sell for?

I don't think anyone has asked yet, what are you planning to sell and how many distinct products/services (by distinct I mean that selling a red iPhone, a green iPhone and a blue iPhone is just 1 distinct product, you just offer that one product in different colours) are you planning to offer?

Yes yes Techfox, we know you are keen....

As to the original post, Saxondale's advice is best: read everything on this forum, in the archives, everywhere.

Use keywords to search: 'websites','starting business', 'dropshipping', 'affiliates', 'businesslink', etc and note down new keywords from each thread you use. Read, read and read more, which will take you at least a week, and then decide how you want to structure a new business, how you want to start a new website, how you want to make money.
Just getting a website built is going to waste your time and money if you don't have a clearer idea of what it is for, and why.

So; read and then ask questions. If you are genuine and put the effort in people won't give a damn about your spelling or grammar here, and will answer with help and expertise. To begin with a good rule of thumb will be 'spend nothing until you know more'.

Good luck.

does your hosting include a free website builder????

Use a template from that, bung in some content, voila a website!!!!

Or

Go get html for dummies from the library, sit down read it, learn from it, grab a free template and start building a website, download something like NVU which is free and away you go, no outlay required at all!!

I got mine up and running through trial and error, it's not perfect but is functional and does the job.

I used an editor (like NVU) got some books, bought a domain and some hosting, threw a few pages together and just kept going until I was happy with it!!

You can view my site at www.babybots.co.uk just to give you an idea of what is possible with a bit of effort.

Wow that background is so distracting it's very hard to read your content!

Esp on a widescreen monitor it takes up about 60% of a maximised browser window!

Hope that helps.

Thats all going, in the process of re-building the site, going for something a bit more cleaner and sharper, but if you think that is bad you should have seen the first one we started with, which fortunately is no longer

All your contributions are a complete waste of time fellow members. It seems that the OP wants to set up an 'on-line pound' shop. The cataloging alone would costs a fortune and to be able to buy and sell at £1 like the PoundLine shops requires an expert buying team and millions of pounds of stock.

Personally I think this is a wind-up. Check out the members name.

ASARELOVE.

I think that given the OP's txt speak there could be an obvious variation on that.
