According to the September 2004 Netcraft web site survey, 68% of web sites run the Apache web server (I know this isn't necessarily Linux). Only 21% of web sites run Microsoft.
I suppose this is due to Microsofts perceived higher vulnerability and the neurotic licencing that Microsoft tries to impose on any website on a server that even just wants to run a simple Database.
