Why are my posts being deleted?

I placed two posts in the Press release forum this morning and for some reason they've been deleted??

Quite a few of my other posts asking advice or thanking people for advice or welcomming me have also been deleted?

I know you can't tell me everytime you delete one, but can anyone tell me why the press releases were deleted?

Thanks

I'm not a mod on here, but probably because the press releases were plugging you rather than something else.

They are cracking down quite a bit on people on spamming their services on here, so if you've had posts deleted in the Introductions forum, could it because you were plugging your services as well as just say hi to people?

I did once, but i replied on my own post basically thanking people for making me feel welcome and that everyone seemed nice so i was confused over that one.

I didn't realise you couldn't put your own press release in the press release forum but i know now. :)

You can, but I believe it has to be more in the form of a press release than a blatant advertisement. Didn't see yours so can't comment on it, maybe a mod will pop up and say something....

Firstly you didnt post one 'Press Release' you posted the same thing twice.

Secondly the posting wasn't a Press Release it was just an advertising plug as have been a number of your posts (please read the forum rules before posting)

Thirdly many of your posts have been put on in the form of spam/designed purely to get your post counts up.

Such posting as tacking on inane comments to other threads particularly old ones and 'greeting' members who have actually been on the forums longer than yourself are two such examples. You have displayed several others!!

This forum is here to provide in the main an exchange of information between members and your initial spamming will mean that many of your posts will be treated in the same vein until you prove otherwise.

This is not particularly personal.....all such posts will be treated the same.

I admit the third one you mentioned there. For some reason I could do anything to my account so assumed it was something to do with posts so i upped my posts to see if that changed anything, it didn't but the next day i could access my account.

I put two press releases, advertising the same thing with different content. I wouldn't have classed it as a 'plug' but ok fair enough those are the rules.

Liz,

If it's any consolation, I had no idea about forum etiquette when I joined. I made plenty of gaffes, and so have others. Just hang around and join in discussions to which you feel able to contribute. Personally, I've found that it's more about giving than receiving. Over time, you'll be surprised how much there is to learn here.
