When does a document become a legal document?

Might sound an odd one, but.......

I'm putting together an agreement which will basically spell out terms, what we'll do, how much, etc etc, between us and an individual.

The insurance company state this document is to be a 'legal document'.

It will be signed by myself as director, and the individual(s) in question - does this then make it legal?

Or is there something else i need to do to make it legal, rather than just a document?

Many thanks

Ask the Insurance Company what they want on the document to make it legal...?

A document/contract signed and dated by both parties, may not be technically legal, but would be difficult to argue against in a court of law, winessed makes it that much more difficult to argue against.

IMHO

I'd ask the Insurance Company in the first instance, or go to a solicitor and ask (what I mean is 'pay') them to do it.
