What good is that if they are not a full member? People will be completely wasting their time reviewing a website and the original poster will not be able to see what is written. It wastes both the o/p's time, and everyone who reviews it.....

Would it not be better just to delete the post, and state the same thing, only paid up members get reviews?

The post wasn't deleted because that's not the current policy on website review type posts. The current policy is to move them into a dedicated area for this precise purpose, irrespective of membership status, leaving it up to the member concerned to decide whether they want to pay the £36 fee for full membership so they can access expert advice.

The forum rules are being looked at and it may be that this particular one is changed in due course.

thanks for reply

apart from receiving "expert advice" what other benefits of the paid membership are there because dont the paid up members still post in the "free" forum ?

instead of "forcing" people to pay to see reviews
why not make it that you have to have 300+ posts on the forum before you can have a review

just my 2 cents

Signature links are great for traffic, and a listing in the directory are the most valuable benefits to me.

Also, the private area is blocked from the search engines, which is handy if you have something more "delicate" to discuss :)
