what flooring?

I'm sorting out my flooring for my shop and have decided to go between a mixture of laminate and carpet.

I've had a quotation for some commercial grade laminate for the main showroom which was pretty good, just got to choose which one I want now. Got to see about the carpet depending on which one I choose again.

What is your shop going to sell? have you googled flooring contractors in your local area and asked them to quote you? If you can I'd get a professional because you want it to look seemless and not awkward joints etc.

The hardest wearing carpet for a shop I ever saw was flotex - the short bristles were resistant to crushing from heavy items like washing machines, and spillages and mess were simply scrubbable. Two virtually identical shops, one with the flotex and the other using carpet tiles - the tile one had nowhere near the toughness or lifespan - however, really bad damage was fixable by just dropping in a new tile from a the spares we had. When the flotex got ripped by a sharp foot when the rubber had come off, all attempts to fix it, then hide it failed. No idea if it's even made any more, but Flotex was just so tough.
