Website competition - feedback please

We are just about to launch a competition on our website. Not having launched a competition before I would be grateful for any feedback both as to the content and layout of the page and also to find out if anyone knows of any directories etc. where I can list the competition.

My particular questions are -

1. Are the questions posed too hard / too easy?
2. Is the prize sufficiently attractive to encourage people to enter?
3. Do we convey enough information on the page about what we do as an organisation?

The page is at http://www.innovationcentres.co.uk/index.php?page=competition

Thanks in advance of any feedback.

# Try listing it here (the site gets a LOT of traffic):

Plus the competition portals: (Do a google search for "uk competitions" to find more) eg: >

http://www.loquax.co.uk
http://www.competitionscafe.co.uk
http://www.ukcompetitions.com

# Maybe see if Matt will give it a mention in his business bricks newsletter (10,000 + readers and a much more 'targeted' audience).
http://www.businessbricks.co.uk/

# If you subscribe to 'Better Business' I think you get a free ad in the magazine. If you don't subscribe maybe they will mention it anyway?

# Other small business e-zines/newsletters?

1. Are the questions posed too hard / too easy?
I think they are fine - you want to attract people who have at least a vague interest in your product/service, so it's best to make them do a bit of work to put off some of those who have no interest at all.

2. Is the prize sufficiently attractive to encourage people to enter?
Yes, I wouldn't mind winning it anyway. :)
3. Do we convey enough information on the page about what we do as an organisation?

Perhaps a little bit more - say a short paragraph above the 'competition' heading at the top - this way people are more likely to read it.

Hope this helps and all the best with the competition.

I think Jason at Loquax actually has a page with information on how to run a competition which might help you.

If you get it posted on top sites like Loquax a lot of other smaller sites will soon copy it and it will get seeded around. Do watch out however for some sites which will publish the answers along side the link to the comp.

Look also for 'freebie sites' which often feature competitions.

It should get you magazine space as mentioned above.

I live in Silverstone but I'd still like to drive a Ferrari so the prizes are good.
