Hello

My business partner and I recently purchased an existing website, with a vBulletin forum being the main bulk of the site and a few other blog articles. In reality we are just after the forum at this point.

The previous owner has given us the remainder of the license for another three months before we need to get our own.

We have all the files etc we are just struggling to find a host or someone that can install the vbulletin for us.

Any guidance on who could do this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Curtis

Any web developer should be capable of doing it, the amount of time it would take them (and therefor cost) would vary depending on exactly what you need. I'm assuming since you acquired it there is a database of users/posts/etc that needs to go with it so that's a little more involved than your standard install-from-fresh but not horribly so.

For a host it depends on just how big the forum is but I would imagine if you paid money for it there is at least something of a healthy community there and pretty much any 'healthy' forum is going to need a dedicated server or VPS to be stable. Anything beyond a couple hundred active users would make short work of killing a shared hosting plan.

It's odd that you need to move it though, typically sales of sites of that kind of site also transfer the hosting it's already on to keep everything ticking along. It can't be good for the user base to have their forum offline while the new owner finds a way to get it back up.
