VAT Registration

Hi
I sent my application to be VAT registered off to her majesty on the 19th of January, how long roughly does it usually take to get VAT registered?

No such things as usual length of time when HMRC are concerned.

Their charter says 15 working days but it all depends on how busy that particular office is. (i'm fairly certain that they sometimes ask for further info just to stop the clock ticking)

Ours took a few weeks but it was during the summer so I guess they would blame that. But dont hesitate to give them a call say in 12 days to chase it up a bit.

They were able to give us our VAT reg number over the phone when we were still waiting for the docs to be sent out.

Also request that they send out their blue VAT guide. Its excellent and can be a real lifesaver. For once the Government have managed to produce something that is easy to understand ! lol

You predicted and it arrived!!
1 month after posting it originally......I wonder if i can offset the time waited against my return in the future??????

Maybe not !!

so now i will answer the questions they have sent, which really must be a standard form as it looks very standard, not like they have thought up unique thinga for my case.

Maybe it's form VAT-Oh S**t we have taken to long 1 ??
