I'm in a dilemma. I do shows (magic/disco/comedy) for kids at birthdays, weddings, clubs etc.

I get excellent feedback/reviews which means I can often sell my slots 5 x over. I refer all my spare work on to another guy and he pays me a referral fee but he's the only person I trust to do a decent job and I still don't trust him enough to employ him under my own name - it's simply a referral.

I'd really appreciate some advice:-

I'm really scared to upscale. I realise I could be cashing in on all the enquires I can't handle by training up party hosts myself but at the end of the day, I'm the popular product and people want me based on my reviews so I worry that if I try and expand, my service will be less personal and less good. I'd also worry about who I get in. I'm an absolute perfectionist at work and I'd be a bag of nerves every time someone else went out and did a gig for me.

I don't have to upscale but I just see it as future proofing my business (and of course not wasting overflow enquiries). I wont be able to leap around on stage forever so I'm also thinking of the future and how good it would be to have other people doing the work.

Would you stick to doing the gigs yourself to maintain quality or try and expand (at a risk).
